Scientists warned the 6th mass extinction going on and it started to threaten humanity

Our Earth has experienced five mass extinctions led many extinct species. Recently a group of American scientists said their latest research shows that the Earth is facing the 6th mass extinction in its history. And it is really starting to happen.
This study indicates that the species on Earth is disappearing at a rate 100 times faster than normal. And with the disappearance of some species can affect the entire ecosystem, including human beings can not avoid these impacts.
According to Professor Paul Ehrlich who heads this research project, a research specialist population biology and a senior member of the Stanford Woods Institute for the environment, we are gradually losing biological diversity. About 75% of current species may disappear after the next two generations.
Right now, up to 41% of amphibians and 26% of mammals at risk of extinction. International Union for Conservation of Nature has to give warnings, including a list of animal species are in danger of extinction and should be preserved.
The explosion of human population is one of the main reasons that many other animal species disappear. We've exploited the natural resources and invade living environment of the animals to meet the development needs of humanity. Along with the development that is a lot of toxic gases alter the ecology of species.

Earth has experienced five mass extinction in the history:

Late Ordovician extinction: This is the first mass extinction of Earth, occurred 440 million years ago. Ranked second severity in history, almost 85% of species have disappeared.
Devon extinction: Occurs in about 359-375 million years ago. The major changes in geology, volcanic made the majority of animal species extinct marine life. But it has created new coral reefs about 100 million years later.
End Permian extinction: This is the largest mass extinction in Earth's history, which makes 97% of species disappear forever. The mass extinction took place about 252 million years ago.
Triassic-Jurassic extinction: Taking place 200 million years ago, the boundary between the Triassic and Jurassic. The mass extinction had led many kinds of amphibians, large-sized animals on land and some dinosaurs disappeared.
Cretaceous extinction: An asteroid crashed into Earth 66 million years ago caused the extinction of this. And it also caused the dinosaur extinction.
